“I find that this hotel's strong suit is blending naval history with modern leisure, near Portsmouth's key attractions. The nautical-themed decor and versatile event spaces stand out, although the basic breakfast contrasts with the high-standard dinners. I think that the indoor pool and comprehensive leisure facilities ultimately round out a solid stay.”

expensive late checkoutnoisy hotel
the staff wasn't all that helpful, to be honest. i asked about late checkout and they wanted to charge me £20 per hour! i have never heard of such a thing. the hotel itself is kinda old and creaky, so that didn't help me sleep soundly.

the breakfast was alright , i suppose.
i found the room dated and in desperate need of some attention. the wallpaper was peeling , and there were actually holes in the wall. plus , the room smelled a bit damp , so i had to leave the windows open all night because i couldn't stand the musty odor.

Solid Stay Near the Docks

friendly staffbreakfast optionharbor proximitywarm corridor
I found the staff consistently friendly. The breakfast had many options. I appreciated the proximity to the harbor. I also found a discount voucher at reception for dockyard parking (it saved me some money).
The hotel seems a bit dated in some areas. I noticed the corridors leading to rooms in the West Wing felt quite warm.
Location
9/10
The hotel is near the harbor. Portsmouth Harbour station is easily accessible. The Maritime Museum is also within walking distance, offering convenient access to attractions.
Service
9/10
Hotel staff are cute and helpful. Assistance with parking arrangements is available. The staff quickly addressed my queries and were readily available at the reception desk.
Dining
8/10
Breakfast offers many choices. I enjoyed a full English breakfast. The restaurant provides a comfortable setting (the dining room is very pleasant).
Rooms

The rooms are clean. Rooms offer sufficient space for luggage. The bathroom included well-stocked towels, which I appreciated (the bathroom had all necessary amenities).

small tvmissing cord
The lack of attention to detail bothered me. The TV was too small. I asked for an extension cord since I use a CPAP machine, yet I did not receive it. This meant I got little sleep that night. The owners do not appear to want to invest in the hotel, and this is a shame.
